Our Staff

Our family of hard workers is ready to serve you.  We have become well known for our friendly service which is just as important as great food.  This is a winning combination. Every year many people return to work for another season at Bread and Roses Bakery.  We have mother and daughter teams,  a father and son duo, and many pairs of siblings.  The people who work here give their best every day.  They are happy and friendly and work very hard to make sure your experience at Bread and  Roses leaves you planning your next visit.  I am very proud and grateful to be working with such a wonderful group of people.  Here are a few for you to meet:

Mary

I am the owner. My job is great because every day is new and different. Mostly I spend my time trying to get all of us to make you leave here thinking this is the best bakery you've ever been to. There are 35 of us who work here and we make over 100 different products. I've never been bored. When I am not working, I love to ride my bike and kayak and spend time with Eileen and our 3 dogs and 4 cats.

Carol

Carol is the manager. She is my eyes and ears. She has the thankless job of making sure everyone does just what I want them to do- the same way every time. She may be behind the scene somewhat, but she is the glue that holds the bakery together. When Carol isn't hard at work at the bakery, she hangs out with her family- Katie, Ryan and Tjitse. Katie works here also!

Caitlin Kelty Huber

Caitlin makes all of the healthy vegetarian lunch items in our shop.
She creates customer favorites and exciting new flavors daily.  
Caitlin is a talented actor and singer and spends her free time with Shadow- her beloved dog who she rescued on a trip to Costa Rica.

Lucie

Lucie is the heartbeat of the kitchen. She is returning for her 8th year and runs the kitchen. She’s up at 4 am to make all of the muffins, scones, croissants and wonderful breakfast pastries. There’s nothing she can’t do here. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, Reese’s peanut butter cups and going to the beach. Lucie is from the Czech Republic and is studying public administration.

Chris

Chris works nights as the go to guy. He is unflappable and always has a smile for everyone. He works hard every day making great coffee drinks and making sure things run smoothly. Chris is in college and enjoys cooking and camping in his spare time.
